$1 mil. lawsuit against Washington state dental office over Medicaid fraud

VANCOUVER, Wash. – A Vancouver dental office is accused of filing around $1 million in false and inflated Medicaid claims over the past five years, the state Attorney General’s office said.The civil lawsuit filed on Thursday alleges that doctors Liem Do and Phuong-Oanh Tran of Careone Dental misrepresented services or billed Medicaid for thousands of fraudulent claims.State Attorney General Bob Ferguson said the investigation covered 139,000 claims totaling over $5 million that the office filed between January ’11 and June ’15.Ferguson said around 20 percent of those Medicaid claims were for services that were misrepresented or simply not given.
