Congress is headed toward ending the government shutdown after the Senate approved a funding bill Nov. 10.
Seven notes:
1. The federal government is on its 42nd day of the shutdown, the longest in U.S. history.
2. The Senate advanced a funding bill with a 60-40 vote Nov. 10.
3. The bill extends funding for most government agencies, including the HHS Department, until Jan. 30.
4. Some agencies, including the Department of Agriculture, FDA and the Department of Veterans Affairs, would be funded through the full fiscal year.
