LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) — The Nebraska Air National Guard traveled to South Texas to train, while simultaneously giving back to the community of Corpus Christi.
Active-duty National Guard and U.S. Reserve service members provided free medical, dental, optometry, behavioral health, pharmacy, public health and veterinary services to residents of Corpus Christi and surrounding communities.
The goal was to provide hands-on training while doing something good for the community, according to a Digital Visual Information Distribution System article.
By the end of the mission, more than 2,000 people were treated and 2,000 animals were given veterinary services.
