The University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry has launched an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency in partnership with UI Health Mile Square Health Center, a federally qualified health center serving underserved communities.
The 12-month program, accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation, is the college’s seventh academic program, according to an Aug. 24 news release. Residents will train across four Mile Square Health Center locations in Auburn Gresham, Back of the Yards, Rockford and South Shore, gaining experience with medically compromised, disabled, pediatric, geriatric and underserved patients. They will also work alongside non-dental specialties such as behavioral health, family medicine and pediatrics.
