Luxury cars belonging to Bronx Medicaid scammer up for auction

ALBANY — The luxury rides that belonged to a crooked Bronx pill peddler can be yours for the right price.State officials are about to sell at auction a 2014 Maserati Gran Turismo and a 2014 BMW X6 seized by the Attorney General as part of a $9.9 million Medicaid fraud case in 2014.“We anticipate lots of interest,” said Heather Groll, a spokeswoman for the state’s Office of General Services, which is conducting the Nov. 2 auction.The cars belonged to Ahmed Hamed, who co-owned a pharmacy on 184th St. in the Bronx that was the focal point of a scam involving the black market sale of high-priced HIV medications.
