Neediest Texans could lose billions in Medicaid coverage under Trump budget, Obamacare overhaul

May 31, 2017 By TDMR 2 Comments

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump pledged on the campaign trail to leave Medicaid untouched. But in his first major budget proposal, the president has laid out a plan to reduce Medicaid spending by more than $600 billion over the next decade. Coupled with the Obamacare overhaul House Republicans passed in May, which would reduce Medicaid spending by more than $830 billion over the same period, Texas could lose billions in coverage, with its neediest feeling the pain.

If we have that many Texans in need of a handout, than we really should withhold those funds and teach those people how to fish, instead of handing them fish. These poor Texas are in need of a job, not a handout. As long as bleeding hearts and democrats trying to earn votes from poor people promises, keep doing this, the poor will stay poor! If we really care about poor people, lets force them to work. Starting with building the wall and picking crops so that we dont need illegals to do that. Do this make sense? Of course it does.

This system had been created by our government to help those in need, once back on their feet they were to come off of social asstance. I remember when it was embarrassing to pay with foodstamps. My mother was on welfare for six months, she worked hard to get off welfare. I remember how proud she was to be making it on her own. Somewhere between then and now politicians have destroyed the capacity for some Americans to feel that greatness, the feeling of self reliance. They have convinced some Americans to lay down the drive to succeed, be self sufficient and take responsibility for themselves. The Democrats, the elite democrats pretend to stand with the poor, pretend to understand where and what the poor need. The Democrats are steeling and in essence enslaving a segment of our society, our fellow Americans to believe they are not capable of making their own decisions, choices because they are not smart enough? How dare these politicians. The reason I believe the politicians continue with this rhetoric is to stay in power. If the politicians can ensure the majority of Americans rely on the government to take care of them in the form of social assistance, they will continue to vote for elected officials who will give them handouts. Any politician who doesn’t try to encourage Americans to get off the dole and provide for themselves and their family is not only doing these people a great injustice, but is doing a great injustice to all Americans.
