A former dentist has pleaded guilty to wire fraud for continuing to take people’s money and treat them after her license was revoked.
Diane Meyer, 63, formerly of the 5700 block of Cass Avenue in Westmont, accepted a sentence of 2½ years in prison in exchange, according to DuPage court records.
Meyer entered the guilty plea on Jan. 12.
The wire theft charge alleged Meyer received a check for $3,372 from a patient in April 2016 as payment for services and deposited the check into her bank account.
She had faced two counts of theft in excess of $100,000, two counts of wire fraud and one count of financial institution fraud in excess of $100,000.
According to a DuPage County grand jury indictment, the state revoked her license in 2013. But she allegedly continued to charge and treat at least 90 people until mid-2016, according to court records.
