Here are five statistics Becker’s has reported on in recent months that could lead to future roadblocks in the dental industry:
1. Around two-thirds of dental hygienists, dental assistants and associate dentists are unsatisfied with their compensation and benefits, according to a survey from GoTu, a dental talent marketplace.
2. More than 54% of dental hygienists, dental assistants and associate dentists are affected by burnout.
3. There has only been a 0.5% increase in dental jobs over the last 12 months, according to data from the American Dental Association.
4. The cost of dental supplies has increased by 6% over the last year, according to data from the ADA.
5. All but one dental specialty experienced a decrease in private equity deals in 2025, according to PitchBook’s “Healthcare Services Report” for the fourth quarter of 2025.
