Texas reports 36,609 cases and 1,004 deaths
[12:45 p.m.] Texas reported 1,219 more cases of the new coronavirus Friday, an increase of about 3% over the previous day, bringing the total number of known cases to 36,609. The case increase comes as the state ramps up testing — the state reported results from 21,956 tests Friday, the second-highest daily total since testing began.Two new counties reported their first cases Friday; over 85% of the state’s 254 counties have reported at least one case.
