Dentist Faces Theft, Wire Fraud Charges

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A Westmont woman faces charges of theft and wire fraud after she was accused of getting paid to practice dentistry in Downers Grove without a valid license. Diane Meyer, 61, kept practicing and charging clients after her license was revoked in 2013, according to Shaw Media.

Meyer’s license had been revoked for violating the Dental Practice Act, per the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, but no additional details were available as of April 19, 2022. Meyer is accused of treating at least 90 dental patients between 2013 and 2016. She was indicted in 2019 and recently taken into custody in Louisiana.

If convicted, Meyer faces up to 20 years in prison.
