TennCare will switch its dental plan management to Renaissance Benefits starting Nov. 1.
The move could mean a change in dentists for some members, according to a press release from the state’s Division of TennCare. While members will keep their current dentist whenever possible, their provider may change if the current one is not in network or if another is closer to the member’s home.
The release also notes that TennCare members can switch dentists at any time through the Renaissance portal.
Benefits provider DentaQuest previously managed member dental plans, which provide two preventive cleanings each year and other services.
“We want to ensure that every TennCare member has access to quality dental care close to home,” TennCare Chief Dental Officer Dr. Kristin Compton said in a press release. “Our partnership with Renaissance will help strengthen our network and make it easier for members to get the care they need.”
