House Bill 222, introduced by Representative Stephanie H. Berault, would require Medicaid coverage for dental procedures under certain circumstances.

The bill states that the Louisiana Medicaid program will cover a dental procedure for an enrollee if it is medically necessary to clear the patient to receive another Medicaid-covered medical procedure. It would also require the Louisiana Department of Health to take specific administrative actions, provide a state plan amendment, and establish administrative rules.
