A Manchester dentist and his dental clinics and dental imaging facility have agreed to pay $300,000 to settle claims that they violated the the federal and state False Claims Acts, U.S. Attorney for Connecticut John H. Durham announced Thursday.
Abbas Mohammadi, the owner of Columbia Dental and Columbia Oral Maxillofacial Imaging, billed Medicaid for dental restoration services that were not provided or were not medically necessary from January 2012 through February 2016, Durham said in a news release.
Mohammadi, a dentist and oral surgeon, is the owner of Columbia Dental P.C., which operates 15 dental clinics throughout Connecticut, and Columbia Oral Maxillofacial Imaging Imaging L.L.C., a dental imaging facility in Manchester.
