Why It Matters
Concerns for potential cuts to Medicaid ramped up when the GOP budget passed through the House, as now the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which oversees Medicaid, is looking to cut $880 billion in spending over the next decade.
Critics of the budget warned it would result in the “gutting” of Medicaid, a program used by some 80 million Americans, many of whom are President Donald Trump’s supporters.
