Minnesota Attorney General Ellison’s office wins state’s largest medicaid fraud case

(FOX 47) – Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison’s office wins the largest medicaid fraud case in the state’s history.

A Hennepin County District Judge found that Lillian Richardson and Bridgett Burell illegally took $7.7 million from the state’s medicaid program.

The pair illegally set up five home care agencies enrolled in the medicaid program.

Richardson was first convicted of medicaid fraud in 2012, but used family members’ names to stay under the radar.

Richardson and Burell got their money by billing services not provided and using people’s identity from out of state.
