Mississippi AG sends nurse charged with medicaid fraud to prison

Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit has had two successful sentencings in the past week, protecting vulnerable seniors and families who rely on Medicaid from fraud and in one of those cases the guilty party will serve time in prison.

On Aug.17, Regina Thomas of Bolton, a licensed practical nurse who operated Total Healthcare Network in Jackson, was sentenced for over-billing and billing for services not rendered and ordered to make restitution in the amount of $4,091,208.09, as well as serve jail time.

Fitch said in a press release that Thomas operated Total Healthcare Network, Inc. in Jackson until 2019, offering respite care and personal care services.
