The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is awarding dental contracts to support dental care for Medicaid patients.
Contracts will be awarded to Delta Dental of Iowa and DentaQuest USA Insurance Company, Inc. Care is provided through Iowa’s Dental Wellness Plan and Hawki.
According to Iowa HHS, plans will provide services such as “exams, cleanings, x-rays, and fluoride treatments, fillings, root canals, dentures, crowns, extractions,” and more.
The new contract starts July 1, 2026. Delta Dental of Iowa has been serving state Medicaid patients since 2014. DentaQuest USA, Inc. is a new contractor for the state’s Medicaid program.
