We came across this PDF of a presentation recently done for the House County Affairs Committee by Dr. Courtney Phillips, the Executive Commissioner of Texas Health and Human Services.
The presentation is an excellent overview of the agency with current statistics and even an organization chart showing who heads what.
We should mention that we didn’t notice that Gov. Greg Abbott had appointed Sylvia Kauffman to the post of HHS- Inspector General back in January 2018.

Ms. Kauffman “has served as the Principal Deputy Inspector General for Health and Human Services since early 2016. Previously, she served in strategic leadership roles at the Inspector General’s Office and at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. Kauffman received a Bachelor of Science in computer science from Stanford University and a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University.”
