TYLER, Texas — A partnership with Tyler ISD and Tyler Junior College Dental Hygiene Program has allowed several local elementary students to receive needed dental care at no charge.
Clarkston, Douglas, and Owens elementary school students have all benefited from the free dental services, according to Tyler ISD.
On Monday, TJC dental hygiene students, dentists and instructors came together to give free dental exams and sealants at Griffin Elementary School. The school district said the partnership shows the importance of community collaboration.
“This partnership provides amazing opportunities for the TJC students to expand their education while providing much-needed healthcare for our Tyler ISD students,” said Rachel Barber, Tyler ISD director of health services. “It is always an honor working with the staff and students from the TJC Dental Hygiene Program.”
