Texas Health and Human Services has sent notifications that it is now accepting applications to serve on the State Medicaid Managed Care Advisory Committee for a two-year term.

One of the best ways to make your voice heard and push for change is to be part of the system.  Providers are being invited. Want to influence DMO accountability?  Want to push for faster credentialing? Here is an opportunity.

The more dental providers that apply and become members, the greater the chance your collective voices will be heard.

Members Sought for the State Medicaid Managed Care Advisory Committee

If you’re interested in issues related to the statewide operation of Medicaid managed care, you may want to apply to be a member of the State Medicaid Managed Care Advisory Committee. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission executive commissioner will appoint members to the committee to serve a term expiring December 31, 2028 (unless otherwise indicated).

HHSC will consider the applicants’ qualifications, background and interest in serving on the committee and will choose committee members who represent the diversity of all Texans. For this reason, HHSC considers applicants’ geographic location.

Applications are due by 11:59 p.m., January 9, 2026.

A committee member must regularly take part in committee meetings. They may also have to take part in subcommittee meetings or other related activities. Committee meetings are held about once every three to four months in Austin or at the call of the presiding officer. To the extent permitted by the current state budget, a committee member may be repaid for their travel expenses to and from meetings if money is available and in accordance with the HHSC Travel Policy.
