TDMR has been in contact with HHSC Provider Services over the last week to find out when or even if there would be any revisions to the Medicaid dental fee schedule before the September 1 implementation deadline, as stated at the July 22 hearing.
We were told that the fee update will be announced on the homepage of the TMHP website in a news posting when it happens. These are at the bottom of the page under “Recent News.”
Yesterday, the other fee schedules that were subjects of the July 22 hearing — Fetal Medicine Radiological Services and Applied Behavior Analysis Services — were posted.
This afternoon, we confirmed with Provider Services that the dental fees are still going through the approval process.
TMHP didn’t update the fees for several days after the March 1st increases even though they went into effect. Claims filed on March 1st paid at the increased rate. DentaQuest posted the revised fees for Sept. 1st. What fee schedule are we supposed to use? Are TMHP and the DMO’s going to reimburse us based on the March 1st fees if we’ve submitted the revised Sept. 1st fees if it’s in fact not effective?
